It's Official.

The girls have finally drawn blood. Yep, you read that right.

Donnita having getting done with her homework, ask if Mary Ann and her could play in her room. I said yes, but you need to watch your sister so she will not get hurt. Well, instead I should of told Donnita to watch out for Mary Ann hurting her. I was just about to start dinner when I heard Donnita telling Mary Ann to get out of her room. Well, I did not think anything about that seeing as it is Donnita's room. They both come into the kitchen together and Donnita looks at me to say nice and calmly. "Mary Ann cut me with the scissors." She was not crying or to badly upset, but as her mom my thought was we are going to the ER for stitches. Thankfully, it was only minor nothing a band aid could not fix. I can say they had my heart racing.

Hopefully, this will be the last accident with scissors for awhile.

School update and family update

Donnita is doing such a great job in school, for the second nine weeks, she made 3 A's and 1 B. For the semester she made all A's. I have no idea yet, what her reading level is. The parent conference meetings were canceled due to bad weather. Now Donnita only has about 83 more days before school is is over for the summer.

As a family, we all have sick. It started last Tuesday night with Mary Ann, she woke up vomiting all over the place. Then it was Donnita's turn. So with both of them sick, we took them to the ER for treatment. It was a stomach virus, but they went ahead and treated the symptoms. So Donnita did not go to school until Friday, which I do not if she was happy that she got to stay home on Thursday or not. By Thursday she was back to her old self but the doctor did not want her to go back til Friday. David and I got sick Friday night and it lasted until Saturday. So the weekend was not great it all. For some reason Mary Ann still seems to be sick with something, am betting since she is pretty young and small that it might have made her tummy a little be more sensitive. This might cause her to take awhile to get her tummy back in order.

Hope no one else catches this virus it is very hard on the body. Everyone try to stay healthy, and hopefully we will be back to normal in a few days. I know we are never normal, but maybe normal healthy.

My Poor Sick Kids

Donnita this morning just resting and watching tv.

Still resting, but starting to feel better.

Mary Ann only rested this once with her Dad.

Donnita resting with Samantha.

Looking so comfortable together.

It all started last night, at about 10:00. I was getting ready for bed when Mary Ann started crying, so as I was opening her bedroom door, she meets me. Boy, did she have me a very yucky surprise. Mary Ann managed to throw up all over herself, the bed and the floor at the top of her bed. So I proceeded to get her in the tub to clean her up, I was like I will get her cleaned up, she has a upset stomach far from it. I have Mary Ann nice and dry so I take her to the living room, so she can watch TV, while I can clean up her room. I have Donnita come into the living room to help watch Mary Ann. While, Donnita is watching Mary Ann, I go to clean up the bedroom. As soon, as I turn my back on the kids Donnita starts to throw up. I have already called David to come home from work, he was on third. So I had help coming. It took me about a good half hour to get everything cleaned up and put in the washing machine. When David, got home we got the kids in the car to take to the ER. We figured at was either a virus or food poison. Well, the doctor said it was a 20 hour virus, no am not confused the doctor said 20 hour virus. They gave the kids prescriptions for Promethegan Suppositories and Hyosyne Elixir. The doctor said they will treat the symptoms, because the virus makes you have very bad cramps and kids can get very dehydrate. So after getting the medicine and a good nights rest they done a lot better today.

We are just hoping that David and I do not catch the virus.

Snow Day January 20, 2009

Snow we had today, now it is all gone, unless you find a shady spot the sun did not touch. Well, Mary Ann had fun in the snow at about 8:30 this morning. Donnita was not home to get into the pictures with the snow. She decided to stay at her Grandparents. Donnita did get in the snow there, but no pictures. Everyone keep warm.

What am reading

Yes, am a mom that reads a lot, if I did not read my kids would not like me one bit. Reading lets me get a way from things and calm down some. Must people know me as a person that carries a book with me everywhere. So right now am into my third book of A Song of Ice and Fire Series: A Storm of Swords, by George R. R. Martin. It is a great series once I pick up the books I do not want to put them back down, that is how great they are. Here is a link to the author's website: www.georgerrmartin.com. Sorry, but I do not know how to make the cure and neat links.

I Finally Figured It Out.....

yep, that is right I finally figured out how to print on my home printer from my laptop. It took me almost from May 2008 to a few days to figure out how to do this. The only reason I finally got serious about figuring out the printer is because David got a new PSP. Since, we were working on getting it hooked up on our home networking, I started thinking about my printer. I have been looking stuff up on the laptop, then when I wanted to print what I had found on the Internet, I would turn on my desktop computer to print it. This was taking a lot of time because I would have to find the information again on the desktop computer, before I could print it. Now, I finally figured out how to print from the laptop and it turns out to very simple. I just had to turn off my password protection from my printer section in my network settings, but it did not interfere with my network security. So, no you can not get into my network to use my Internet service. This will make life more easier in the computer world of this house. The only down side is now I can not convince David I need a new printer that is made for wireless networking, with out being hooked to a regular computer. I guess, am back to using my printer until at completely dies.

Our Newest Family Member

Yep, our newest family member is a kitten. We have named her Samantha, or Sammy for short. She is only about 6 weeks old but very friendly and very energetic.
