Award Day for Donnita

Donnita had awards day this morning. David had to work, so I was going with just Mary Ann. I am pretty happy with the results. I had no m/s but a little heartburn, now Mary Ann done really great I was expecting at one time during the whole things for one meltdown. There was none, she was just overly excited to see Donnita on stage and kept screaming for Donnita. Other, then that she was great. I will tell a little story on her at the end of this blog.

Donnita is the only one this nine weeks in her class to get all A's. I am very proud of her, she is actually doing a lot better then I ever did in elementary. I have no idea were, she is getting all her smarts. Her dad would say from him, lol. Donnita also got good behavior, so we know she is being good in class. We really never have any trouble with her misbehaving in class. Just once in a blue moon she might get a warning about talking when she is not suppose to be. Last time I asked why she was talking in class. Here is her answer, "I was playing at recess and I could not talk, but I had to tell my friend something in class." I was like recess is when you are suppose to talk with your friends and she was like, I was playing did not have time for talking. I just laughed at her. Kids you just got to love them.

The story about Mary Ann, she had to go to the bathroom. Once on the toilet she did not sit far enough back on the toilet, she peed on her pants. It was so funny to see her reaction, good thing I did not have a camera with me. Point of the story for me is next time to make sure she is farther back on the toilet. I am just so happy she waited to go and did not go in her diaper. She is getting better about this mainly when we are not it home.

I consider this a great day we made it through the awards ceremony, and Mary Ann waited to pee instead of using her diaper.

We are expecting another bundle of joy this fall.

Yep, you read that right as of right now am due toward the end of November, unless we get a different date this coming April 1. So the cat is out of the bag.

Got some great news about Donnita.

We are going to a meeting at school on Thursday, to have Donnita released from speech. This is sort of a sad time, to being that speech helps her with her spelling words each weeks and other school problems. I think Donnita will enjoy being able to stay in her classroom instead of having to put what she is working on down, to leave the room. Right, now Donnita is more excited about getting cupcakes from her speech teacher, they are going to celebrate her graduating speech with a little cupcake party. I have been hear about this for a good week now. This is just showing how Donnita is growing in her education progress. I am so proud of Donnita, she has come from my little girl that never wanted to speak, and now she is nothing but a talker.

Donnita we are very proud of you. Keep up the good work.

Mary Ann proved me wrong

I am a person that can not sleep with my kids, but David can sleep with them without any problem. Last night around 2:00 am, Mary Ann seemed to wake up from a nightmare, she came into our bedroom. Mary Ann climbs into the bed on David's side and hugs up to him. I would normally leave the bed when she climbs into the bed, but it was David that got up and went to sleep in the living room. So last night Mary Ann proved me wrong by staying in the bed with her. Normally, we will put her back to bed but since she was crying in her sleep we decided to let her be. Mary Ann also put my worse fears about sleeping with the kids, out of my mind this morning, but I know they will be back sooner then later.

Hopefully, no nightmares tonight, maybe it is the heatwave we are having around here.

Snow Pics 3/1/2009 - 3/2/2009

The pictures are of the snow that we received Sunday night. Right now it is Friday and we still have snow laying around here. The snow storm was what is called a Thundersnow. This type of storm is very rare and when it does happen an area in the storm can receive up to 7 or more inches of snow. I believe am right in the number of inches. I will say we got a lot of snow, if anyone else has any information on Thundersnow storm send me the facts. I am also wondering, if anyone knows any old weather means about Thundersnow.

9th Wedding Anniversary

Yep, we have made it nine years as of today. I will be spending the day with Mary Ann and then picking Donnita up from school, while David will be spending our ninth anniversary working. Am just lucky I can remember at is our anniversary, David is the one that remembers the date better then me. We have had happy moments, very sad moments, and just plain old married moments. We will not be doing anything to really celebrate except if David gets off early we might go eat out as a family.

Let's get ready for another nine years of marriage.

Sunday Night through Wednesday Evening NO POWER

Well, we were out of power since Sunday night, now there is a lot of cleaning and catching up on stuff since it took the power company till Wednesday Evening to get the power on. The power company around here can make you so mad, I have been mad since Monday 5:00 pm. I will try to make this a short story, am laughing at myself now. David called around 10:00 Sunday night, to report that our power was out because of the snow storm, when he got to talk to an actual real person, that person said our power would be back on Monday at 5:00pm. Well, that person got our hopes up to have them crushed. We stayed home that night because the roads were a mess, and we have two little ones that needed to sleep. On Monday we kept warm by covering up and almost everyone laying on each other. I was a little impatient with the waiting, but David was waiting to see if the mail person could make it down to our house, once he seen the mail person we got in the car and went to Grandparent's Moss's house. Since we was told the power would be on it 5:00 we went to get some food, then we went back home to find the power still out and it was already past 5:00. Needless to say from that moment on we were told so many times that the power was going to be back on that I lost count. Time Wednesday came around I was ready to strangle someone it the power company, when I called them on Wednesday because they had it on the news that power in our area would be on by 5:00 pm, and my power was not I called them and had to hang up on them before I did not tell them so nicely where to go. (I was at my mom's to watch the news.) I even called the new station, they told me to wait till 6:30 pm and if the power company still did not have my power up to call the new station back. I had my mom come back to my house, so we could wait until 6:30 to see if any power was back on. My power was back on when I got home but they had only turned at on it 6:00 pm, not 5:00 pm.

Now if the power company would just have said that they did not know when our power was going to be back on I would have been alright. I just do not like it when someone gives you a time and does not do something by that time. Since, they kept giving us times when the power would be on, we lost a lot of food. If we were not giving times, we would have took our food to my parents so it would not have went bad. We even stayed at a hotel for one night, and the bad thing is the power company will want their payment but they will not reimburse us for our loss.

The power is back on but our faith in the power company to give us honest information is gone.
